Critical factors

The thickness of Nordmela and Stø Formations decreases towards northeast. The presence of a cap rock with sufficient sealing capacity. Preservation and leakage of petroleum owing to tilting, reactivation of faults and Cenozoic uplift and erosion, especially for shallow and/or truncated structures.
