Wellbore history

General

Well 35/6-1 S was drilled on the M&l&y Slope in the Northern North Sea, in the block just north of the Gj&a field and the 35/9-3 Discovery. The main objectives were to prove hydrocarbons in the Early Cretaceous Gross prospect and the Late Cretaceous Silius prospect.

Operations and results

Wildcat well 35/6-1 S was spudded with the semi-submersible installation Ocean Vanguard on 4 February 2009 and drilled to TD at 847 m in the late Paleocene Sele Formation. The well was drilled with seawater and hi-vis pills.

A shallow water flow from under the guide base was noted and operations on the well were suspended on 9 February 2009. The flow was observed while a new well was drilled from a location 30 m to the south.

No cores were cut and no wire line fluid samples were taken.

The well was plugged and permanently abandoned on 4 April 2009 as a dry well.

Testing

No drill stem test was performed.
