The objective of the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate is actively to promote the best possible management of the petroleum resources in order to increase the creation of value on the Norwegian continental shelf by maintaining a balance between the resource-related, safety-related, environmental, technological and economic aspects of the activity.It is therefore important that the Directorate has the best possible understanding of the geological conditions and an overview of the petroleum resources on the Norwegian continental shelf, thus providing a valuable basis for assessing the most efficient ways of exploring, developing and recovering these resources.
With this presentation, the Directorate is giving an updated survey of the petroleum resources on the Norwegian continental shelf.
