This year a new milestone was reached for CO2 storage in the North Sea basin. The first exploration well was drilled in the exploitation license and a development plan was submitted to the authorities.
“The resource diagram shows that we have produced 48 per cent of the recoverable resources on the shelf. This means that more than half remain to be produced and discovered. Of course, it is impossible to say exactly how much is yet to be discovered, but our analyses indicate that it can be 25 per cent of the total. “Therefore, it is important to explore in all the sea areas”, says Director General Ingrid Sølvberg.
