15/6-14 S

06/10/2017 The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has granted Statoil Petroleum AS a drilling permit for well 15/6-14 S, cf. Section 8 of the Resource Management Regulations.

Well 15/6-14 S will be drilled from the Maersk Integrator drilling facility, at position 58°34’19.36” north and 01°41’48.81” east, just north of the Gina Krog field in the central part of the North Sea.

The drilling programme for well 15/6-14 S relates to the drilling of a wildcat well in production licence 029 C, but will be drilled on behalf of Gina Krog Unit. Statoil Petroleum AS is the operator on Gina Krog with an ownership interest of 58.7 per cent. The other licensees are Total E&P Norge AS (15 per cent), KUFPEC Norway AS (15 per cent), PGNiG Upstream Norway AS (8 per cent) and Aker BP ASA (3.3 per cent).

The area in this licence consists of a part of block 15/6. Production licence 029 C was awarded on 17 October 2012 after being carved out of PL 029, which was awarded in the 2nd licensing round in 1969. This is the first wildcat well that has been drilled in the licence, but three exploration wells have previously been drilled within the licence area.

The permit is contingent upon the operator securing all permits and consents required by other authorities prior to commencing the drilling activities.
