08/05/2019 The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has granted Aker BP ASA a drilling permit for well 15/6-16 S, cf. Section 15 of the Resource Management Regulations.
Well 15/6-16 S will be drilled from the Deepsea Stavanger drilling facility in position 58°40'14.52"N and 01°43'02.21"A.
The drilling programme for well 15/6-16 S relates to drilling of wildcat wells in production licence 777. Aker BP ASA is the operator with an ownership interest of 40 per cent. The other licensees are Petoro AS with 20 per cent, OMV (Norge) AS with 20 per cent and Vår energi with 20 per cent.
The area in this licence consists of part of blocks 15/2, 15/3, 15/5 and 15/6. The well will be drilled about ten kilometres north of the Gina Krog field in the central part of the North Sea.
Production licence 777 was awarded on 6 February 2015 (APA 2014). This is the first well to be drilled in the licence.
The permit is contingent on the operator securing all other permits and consents required by other authorities prior to commencing the drilling activity.
