Drilling permit for wells 15/3-12 S and 15/3-12 A in production licence 025

26/11/2019 The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has granted Equinor Energy AS a drilling permit for wells 15/3-12 S and 15/3-12 A, cf. Section 15 of the Resource Management Regulations.

Wells 15/3-12 S and 15/3-12 A will be drilled from the West Phoenix drilling facility in position 58°46'53.25"N and 1°54'13.43"E after concluding drilling in the UK sector.

The drilling programme for wells 15/3-12 S and 15/3-12 E relates to the drilling of wildcat wells in production licence 025. Equinor Energy AS is the operator with an ownership interest of 36 per cent.

The other licensees are Neptune Energy Norge AS (25 per cent), OMV (Norge) AS (24 per cent) and Repsol Norge AS (15 per cent). The area in this licence consists of a part of block 15/3. The well will be drilled about 4 kilometres south of the 15/3-4 (Sigrun) discovery.

Production licence 025 was awarded in 1969 in licensing round 2-A on the Norwegian Shelf. These are the tenth and eleventh exploration wells to be drilled in the licence.

The permit is contingent on the operator securing all other permits and consents required by other authorities prior to commencing the drilling activity.
