34/6-1 S

26/08/2002 Press release no 34/2002: Norske Conoco AS has completed drilling of wildcat 34/6-1 S in production license 268, 120 km west of Florø.

The main purpose of the well was to investigate possible hydrocarbon deposits in rocks from the Early and Middle Jurassic Ages.

The well was drilled in 380 meters of water to a total vertical depth of 3896 meters below sea level.  The well was completed in rocks presumably from the Late Triassic Age.  No hydrocarbons were proven in the well.

The well will now be plugged and abandoned.

The well was drilled with the Transocean Winner drilling rig, which will now be laid up temporarily.
