22/07/2003 Press release no. 14/2003: Norsk Hydro, operator of production license 195, has completed drilling on wildcat well 35/8-5 S. The well is located in the North Sea southwest of Florø, in waters that are 370 meters deep. The well was drilled to a total depth of 3803 meters under the sea surface and was completed in rocks from the Middle Jurassic Age.
The well showed traces of hydrocarbons in rocks from the Upper Jurassic Age, which was the primary target of the drilling activity. The operator is now evaluating the results from the well.
The drilling activity was carried out by the Deep Sea Delta drilling rig which, upon completion of this job, will be moving to the Tune field to conduct well intervention and completion work.
The well has now been plugged and the drilling rig is in the process of leaving the site.
Production license 195 was awarded in the 14th licensing round in 1993.
