"The NPD and NGU have always co-operated closely. The agreement allows both parties to share knowledge and experience to an even greater extent", says director general Bente Nyland.

The NPD and NGU are established institutions with expertise in the field of geology, and both are involved with government tasks in related fields.

The new agreement, which was signed on 28 October, states among other things that the top leaders from both institutions shall meet not less than once a year.

The agreement includes joint ventures, co-ordination of data, international collaboration and competence training.
