The NPD teaches the industry - about the NPD
15/12/2016
Around 150 employees from the petroleum industry participated at the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate’s (NPD’s) first course on the NPD on Tuesday, 13 December.
This was the first of many planned courses with the same topic. It is useful for both the oil companies and the NPD that the people who work in the industry are aware of our role in all phases of the activities. The NPD’s main goal is to contribute to creating the greatest possible values for society from the oil and gas activities through effective and responsible resource management, where health, safety and the environment, as well as other users of the sea, are taken into consideration. This is why we follow up the industry throughout every phase of activity – from applications for licence award, through exploration activity, development and operation of fields, all the way through cessation. Advising the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy is another important task.
Here is a link to the presentations (In Norwegian only) that were held at the course.
