Wells

The companies that operate on the Norwegian shelf have access to extensive amounts of well data in our database. The directorate shares information in order for the players to analyse and make use the well data.
Well data comprises raw data and interpreted data, cf. Section 85 of the Regulations relating to the Petroleum Act.
Raw data is normally available two years after the well is completed. Wells in relinquished production licences are the exception, where information is released in connection with relinquishment.
Well information that is interpreted or processed by other parties than the directorate will become available 20 years after the data is analysed.
FactPages
The FactPages contain an overview over exploration and development wells on the Norwegian Shelf. For most of these wells, key attributes are published and can be downloaded. There is a more extensive database for exploration wells more than two years old, the Well Data Summary Sheet (WDSS).
It is easy to export exploration and development wells with associated attributes from the FactPages.
Diskos – national database
The national database for exploration and production information on the Norwegian Shelf is called Diskos.
Reporting requirements for digital well data, also known as the Blue Book, show types of data that are reported for newer wells, and when this data will be released. Not all types of data will be available for all wells.
