The network group Integrated Reservoir Modelling has the pleasure of inviting you to this years first lunch and learn. The featured topic is: Organizational Decision Quality: value creation by high quality decisions by Prof. J. Eric Bickel from the University of Texas at Austin.
Associate Professor & Director
Operations Research & Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management, Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering, and Strategic Decision & Risk Management
The University of Texas at Austin
Is your organization maximizing the value of the decisions it makes? As a decision maker, are you presented with a range of alternatives to consider, or are you “pitched” a recommended course of action? Are your organization’s decisions based on high-quality information? Does your decision-making process account for uncertainty? Are your strategies robust and flexible? Are you faced with trying to achieve multiple and often conflicting objectives? Does your organization reward good decision-making or lucky outcomes?
These are some of the questions Prof. Eric Bickel will address during his seminar focused on maximizing value creation by making high-quality decisions. Prof. Bickel will discuss the Decision Quality framework, separate the concept of decisions and outcomes, and layout a roadmap for improving organizational decision quality.
Prof. J. Eric Bickel is Associate Professor and Director of both the Operations Research & Industrial Engineering and the Engineering Management programs at The University of Texas at Austin. In addition, he is the Academic Director of the McCombs School of Business Strategic Decision and Risk Management (SDRM) program. Prof. Bickel also holds a courtesy appointment in the Department of Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering.
