Call for joining the organization committee! The 2020 Force Machine Learning competition

06/03/2020 The 2020 Force Machine Learning competition. Predicting facies and stratigraphy from well logs and mapping faults on seismic. Force has approved the go ahead to carry out a public machine learning competition on well logs and potentially on seismic data. This will replace the hackathon in 2020 We are currently looking for enthusiastic people who would like to be part of organizing this.

  • The idea is to make prepared datasets public and have a “Kaggle style”  competition
  • Matt Hall from Agile will run a scoring Platform and help people with understanding the data through tutorials etc
  • At the end of September the winning teams will be invited to Stavanger to present their results and discuss with others
  • There will also be a chance for a mini symposium with machine learning subsurface geoscience related talks

We are looking for 4-5 interested individuals who think this a fun idea and would like to help shape this event with their own ideas and creativity

Please contact Peter Bormann to join the committee.
