22/10/2021 The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has issued a drilling permit to Equinor Energy AS for well 6407/9-13, cf. Section 13 of the Resource Management Regulations.

Well 6407/9-13 will be drilled from the West Hercules drilling facility at position 64°26'22.46"N and 7°41'13.46"E.

The drilling programme for well 6407/9-13 relates to the drilling of a wildcat well in production licence 1060.

Equinor Energy AS is the operator with an ownership interest of 31 per cent. The other licensees are OKEA ASA (40 per cent), Chryasor Norge AS (20 per cent) and Longboat Energy Norge AS (9 per cent).

The area in this licence consists of parts of blocks 6407/8 and 6407/9. The well will be drilled about 11 kilometres northwest of the Draugen field.

Production licence 1060 was awarded on 14 February 2020 (APA 2019). This is the first exploration well to be drilled in this licence.

The permit is contingent on the other permits and consents required by other authorities being secured before drilling activity starts.
